P1218
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
P1218 is the code which sets when the PCM cannot read the resistor installed where the harness plugs into the PMD (or FSD if the PMD is remote mounted). The resistor fine tunes the fuel rate of the IP when it is calibrated during manufacture or rebuild.
Google "PMD resistor" and you will find vendors who sell them as well as photos of what they look like and where they are installed. Since I am not certain that they are site sponsors I did not post a direct link.
Other than that, your post is not clear enough to indicate what happened. There connectors from the harness for the stepper motor, the optical sensor, and the PMD. None of the connectors interchange.
Without the resistor, or if the resistor has become damaged, the P1218 code will keep coming back. Not only that, the fuel injection rate will be reduced to the lowest output programmed into the PCM.
I am not too good in english, but do you say that I only have to change the resistor on the PMd? Or do I have to get a new pmd as well? It is a big operation to change the pmd and resistor.......
